Ask him to sing you a song.

Elvis doesn’t seem to want to sing.  I was once told to go to YouTube to search for his videos, on another occasion he said, “My voice is not quite ready now,” and on another he said that I’d have to pay him “10,000 dollars” which he pronounced “ten zero, zero, zero dollars”. Since you’re using voice, you might wish to change the response to “ten thousand dollars “.

Ace, is the URL still the same? Because if it is, then there’s also still a problem. Yet again, when I try to connect to http://stormnet.gotdns.com/ I get nothing at all. :(

The URL is http://www.talktotheking.com/

Ah, that’s better. Thanks for the URL, Thunder. smile

The new URL is http://talktotheking.com

How come it’s not showing the little HTML5 microphone icon, so I can really talk at it in Chrome19 ?  ;^)

And, let’s get our ducks in a row and update the link at http://twitter.com/Elvisbot !

Me: What is your middle name?
Elvis: What do you think ALICE STAND FOR does? So, my middle name is “Internet”.

I was expecting it to say Aaron. Just a heads up for one to change.

Speaking from the position of one who has (almost) completely altered the ALICE AIML set to create a chatbot who’s favorite outfit is NOT a green dress (It’s a burnous, darn it!), I can say with some authority that weeding out every single response that screams, “I’m ALICE!” is a long, tedious and sometimes frustrating process, and one that isn’t always follically- friendly. smile I’ve worked on Morti’s AIML set to do just that for countless dozens of hours, cumulatively, and I’m STILL finding the occasional ALICE “give-away” response.

I guess what I’m trying to say is, don’t let finding responses like this get to you, Ace. The transformation from the Queen of AI to the King of Rock~n~Roll is more complicated than a RL sex change, and it’s going to take time to complete. Hang in there! cheese

True, but there are some shortcuts that will address a lot of them.  If you’re using Pandorabots, in the Annotated A.L.I.C.E. AIML (AAA set) - September 2003, using the Training Interface, you can click the AIML tab at the top of the page and remove the checkmark in the ACTIVE column for ALICE AIML… but you may wish to review them first to insure that you’re not removing something you’d like to keep.  If you don’t like the changes, you can always put the checkmark back and reactivate the file.

In the March 2002 ALICE AIML, you can open files in the Training Interface and search the individual files using the edit - find on this page feature of your browser.  In the A.AIML file alone there are around seventy-some references to ALICE which you can “Don’t Match” in the Training Interface, or create a text file on your computer, edit out what you don’t want, and then upload it as an update file.

Dave is spot on. I have been developing Mitsuku for whatmust be nearly 8 years now and still find ALICE giveaway responses dotted here and there.

@Thunder:

Some of us don’t have that luxury, I’m afraid, lol. I guess that’s the price some of us have to pay to be different. raspberry

I must say, however, that the forum that Thunder runs is an invaluable resource for finding these “hidden” little ALICE responses, along with a vast number of typographical errors, and just plain strange inconsistencies within the more popular AIML sets. The A.I. Nexus should almost be a “mandatory bookmark” for any and all AIML botmasters. smile

Sorry, Ace, but I’m not able to get it to function.

Human: Sing.
Elvis:  Would you like to hear Suspicious Minds or Promised Land?
Human: Suspicious Minds.
Elvis:  Click here.
Human:  *I click on the words*
Elvis:  404 Error! We couldn’t find the page you requested. Please check the URL and try again.

Right now you must use IE for it to play a song for you.  I am currenty working on getting it to work with firefox and chrome….so for in the meantime use Internet Explorer and it will work.

I’m using Internet Explorer.  When I click the words, “click here,” I get an Angelfire error page.
