Chatbots on Deviantart.com

I just did a search of this AI Zone forum for “deviantart” and came up empty.  I would like some help understanding the chatbots on Deviantart.com better.  There seem to be MANY.

Obviously, Deviantart.com is an online community for artists, and logically some of the nicest basic web interfaces to chatbots can be found there, IMHO.  I have done some digging and came up with the following; however, I still don’t fully understand how they’re being made, or in particular what AI engine they’re using??

Thanks for the links, Marcus. I poked around a little, and noticed that nearly every bot I visited is an AIML bot, hosted by Pandorabots, with a Flash interface. A couple of the bots themselves (discounting the Flash interface) were pretty well scripted, so that it wasn’t obvious that they were “ALICE Clones”, but I was able to extract at least one “ALICE answer” from every bot I tested. Still in all, I was well pleased with each one I visited. smile

Yep I found a lot of ALICE clones there too last year when I added some to the chatterbot collection.  Very nice visuals.

Pretty hard core stuff over there. I assume you have to download and install all the bots mentioned over there to try them (I’m always a little bit carefully with just installing software I find on these kind of websites). ...

@Roger: I have fund a few static images, well designed though, but ‘just’ images, and a few with a blinking eye. Are there more advanced visuals as well? Probably I’m just clicking the wrong links…

Mainly they seem to be simple animations, nicely designed though.  Some of them have a sort of story board to follow, like those old adventure game books… then they lead into the chat.

I just picked a few to put in the collection at the time, I will probably go back and see what else is there.

If you look on the home page of the colllection : http://www.chatterbotcollection.com/

Scroll down and there’s five of them, posted Feb 28th (funny I thought it was longer ago than that) all labelled as ‘Flash and Pandorabots powered chat bot.’

DeviantArt hosts artists (many well versed in Flash). After one of the fist artists combined a flash interface with a Pandorabot, there were many requests for a how to guide. After a guide was published I have seen a growth in deviantart/flash/pandorabots.
