Synthetix has successfully launched another smartAgent into the Travel and Tourism sector for Virgin Holidays. Visitors to virginholidays.com can click on “Need Help?” and are greeted by smartAgent Valerie who is there to answer queries twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. The smartAgent has been implemented to improve the customer experience and reduce the routine inbound enquiries to the Virgin Holidays contact centre. Valerie allows users to ask natural language questions about holiday destinations and pre/post booking queries whilst also navigating them around the website. The smartAgent also has a number a pre-programmed conversational goals to attempt to increase sales and impart essential information. The smartAgent has a wealth of knowledge, users can ask “What is like to visit Dubai”, “Can I pre-book my seats on the flight?” or even “What films are showing on my flight?”.

PA virtual assistant. She gives help on TFR (a Italian payment). CrazyTalk plugin required (http://www.reallusion.com/) that seems not available for FireFox. A free text field is offered but Vicky works only to “speak” a sentence when the traditional navigation is done: if you try to put a free, natural language, question the system gives a error page.

Not a problem, just ask Vindcent what you’re looking for and he will search immediately. How does it work? it’s real easy, If you’re looking for a house, just ask him to look for it like: “i’m looking for a house”. Vindcent will ask you where he should look fr you (region) and the pricing range he should use in his query. After that he will present his results. This is also available for cars, electronics and second hand products.

The Virtual Assistant on the Waterstone’s website can not only be launched from their homepage, but also from the What’s New and Daily News pages.

User comfort is created by incorporating the Waterstone’s logo into the interface.

This Virtual Assistant is able to recognise when users are asking for specific book topics and direct them to the correct subject pages. For example, if you ask ‘books on roses’ you will be directed to the Home and Garden categories page while asking ‘books on football’ will bring up the link for the Sports categories page.

Alliance & Leicester has removed their site search tool and replaced it with their Virtual Assistant. Typing a question or keyword in the search box on their homepage automatically brings up the Virtual Assistant.
