Abi Carvar is a Second Life based Avatar chatbot.
She acts as a greeter for Daden at their Second Life Office on Daden Prime. Virtual world offices and shops are not manned 24/7 therefore ensuring visitors can interact with you is important. Many in-world developments have a simple "greeter" script, which just says a sentence as they arrive. Others will have "contact me" devices which let you page the owner. Some even have basic "tour guides". Simple chatbots can be a static or animated image on a virtual screen and can be wholly managed in-world.

Complicated chatbots like Abi can be programmed to follow your visitors or wander around your areas looking for visitors to engage with and learn from. They'll also use content from web searches to respond to queries and build replies. We can even use the same engine to drive chatbots in multiple worlds, on the web, and even on mobiles.
Daden is currently developing "intelligent" chatbots whose interaction will be so natural that your visitor will not know whether they are talking to a bot or to you!
