Asimov was originally designed to answer questions, but it is being changed into a general-purpose chatbot, able to hold conversations. Now it can hold conversations on a wide range of subjects. Asimov has been available on the web since 2005. Asimov is named after the Science Fiction writer Isaac Asimov, who wrote stories about intelligent robots. Asimov was entered into the ChatterBox Challenge 2006. It won the prize for Best Learning Bot in 2006.
