The designer of CHAT started a experimental BASIC program in about 1985. It grow out to what we have now. Chat is launched in 2003 in english. Later on in 2003 CHAT learned French, German, Italian, Portoghese, Spanish and Dutch. CHAT learns from the user during the conversation but learning is not retained afterwards.

Web-based Bot can also be used off-line. No log of conversations is kept on the server so all conversations are confidential. CHAT did win Bronze in The Chatterbot Challenge 2004 for Best Learning Bot.

this chatbot is NOT very smart. dialogue is in a pop-up, what irritates. Op top, it asked: where do you like to talk about?’. To avoid the ‘sex’ test, i answered: ‘computers. But chat never heard of computers :-(
