Ultra Hal Assistant is a digital secretary and companion. He (or she depending on your character preference) can help you be more organized, help you use your computer, and he can entertain you. Ultra Hal has different animated characters to choose from and he speaks to you through your sound card. You can also speak to Hal with Hal's speech recognition engine, or you can type to him if you wish. Hal 6.1 was launched November 2006.

Hal won Gold in the 2004 Chatterbox Challenge in the category Most Capable.
Zabaware’s Ultra Hal software won the “most human” computer of the year 2007 in the 17th annual Loebner Prize Competition for Artificial Intelligence (AI). The contest was held in New York City hosted by philanthropist Hugh Loebner.
