I believe that computer programming is as valid a form of creative expression as painting or writing. I became interested in chatbots when I read the transcripts of previous Loebner Prize contests and wanted to develop a chatbot that actually understood what the user was saying and attempt to act on it rather than using keyword spotting tricks and having a large database of canned responses.
