ameli.fr of Cnamts (Caisse Nationale d’assurance maladie) launched in 2002 to all insured employers and health professionals. With over 5.2 million hits per month, Ameli.fr is the 3rd largest public service site in France. Since 2007, more than four million policyholders created personal accounts on the site to manage their information.  With a wide range of content and applications, Ameli.fr users were having difficulty finding the right information for their specific needs. The telephone support channels were flooded with people asking for information that was already on the website. Ameli.fr implemented the VirtuOz virtual agent to provide better service and improve user navigation for policyholders.

The City Council Almere is the first city in the world that uses a social network site as a communication channel and on top of that uses a chatbot for interactive communication. Virtual Assistant Ally is on the Hyves page of Almere. Ally can answer all questions about Almere, the events and you can just chat with her.

Carly, named after the town by City Manager Mark Weiss, appears in the center of a monopoly-board type menu of city departments and services on the reception desk computer. Visitors can mouse over the computer menu and click for more information on a service or department. “But then there’s this avatar,” said Moura, “and if you click on it, it starts talking and explaining what services are on the first floor and the second floor, and what services the city provides.”

Mia is a municipality assistant that assist users in Kongsvinger municipality, Norway. Mia’s knowledge includes issues related to kindergartens, health and school (SFO). Most of her library answers are linked to what Kongsvinger can offer the citizens, like shopping, library, cinema, theatre, camping etc. She also offers chat handover if she cannot help the user.
