Morti is a chat bot that “lives” in pChat, a chat room script written by Dave Morton of Geek Cave Creations. Based initially on both the ALICE Annotated AIML set, and Program O, both have been heavily modified with the intended goal of creating a more robust bot. Morti has several built in features, such as Google, Wiki and ask.com searches, and other features are either planned, or in development.

Dadorac is an iPhone App with speech synthesis and 5 avatars. Don’t want to give set questions to ask, but try to ask about whatever interests you, using conventional spellings.  Try questions that you would ask a friend, but that conventional chatbots would provide poor responses to.  Some examples might be:

“what are you having for dinner?”

“where did i leave my keys?”

“where shall we go?”

“why do my knees hurt?”

Moodimonitor a chatbot / chat bot representing Childline

MoodiMonitor is a chatbot created for young people who want express their feelings through a confidential channel. The chatbot asks users a series of questions to find out how he can aid them whenever they are, for example, happy, depressed or being bullied at school. When they are feeling down, the chatbot will try to cheer them up. If he is not able to do so, he will refer them to Childline UK. The chatbots database consists of menu-structured questions and answers. Moodimonitor is created in coorporation with Thin Martian.

Ada a chatbot / virtual assistant representing Fido Intelligence

Ada is a Virtual Assistant present on a Fido intelligence website dedicated to foreign contractors . The bot, speaking English, guides the Internet users through solutions provided by Fido intelligence and explains how they function. Ada, created based on Text intelligence technology, is the first bot that can move through the entire width of a website, rather than occurring only in a chat window. Additionally, this virtual assistant is equipped with several gadgets used during the chat with internet user.

The Joebot robot is a content-packed, walking, talking interactive buddy with a sense of humor and rhythm. Featuring voice command control, the Joebot robot is capable of responding to key phrases via sound sensors; he can also be controlled by his responsive hands or by the Robosapien™ robot’s remote controller.

The Joebot robot is not your average Joe – in fact, he can beatbox and dance – just tap out a beat and he will repeat it perfectly while grooving along. His movements are fast and fluid, and he is able to avoid obstacles via infrared sensors or detect if he falls over with tilt sensors. Various modes include Wandering, Patrol, Talk, Guard and Battle Modes. In Battle Mode, for example, he will wander freely while tracking and blasting objects with his hand LEDs; you can even challenge him to a “duel” using any TV (IR) remote controller.

Do-Much-More is designed so as to appear more natural and more knowledgeable than other chatbots, characteristics made possible by its knowledge of the morphology of the English language, some general knowledge, and some knowledge related to word usage.

The most important characteristic of Do-Much-More is its entertainment value. By keeping the user intrigued and entertained throughout a conversation, the hosting web site will be maximizing the time spent by the user in visiting their site. The entertainment value provided by the web site will also encourage many visitors to return to the site often.

A.B.I responds in natural language to what you type. She is able to “learn” what to say by analysing her conversation logs and by direct question/answers with visitors. During a conversation A.B.I will decide if she enjoys chatting to someone or not and will acknowledge what she deems negative or positive input.

Chip Vivant a chatbot

Chip Vivant attempts to be able to answer commonsense questions and actually understand what the user is saying rather than using keyword spotting tricks with a large database of canned responses. Chip lives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, US and went live in May 2008. Chip is currently not online, but a webpage can be found at http://www.chipvivant.com/. Chip was a finalist in the Loebner Prize Contest 2009.
