Acting upon instructions from R/GA London a chatbot was developed for Nokia. The chatbot, called The Annoying Orange, can be accessed through different mobile applications. The Annoying Orange is a popular character on Youtube. Nokia uses this character as a chatbot to promote the Instant Messaging services for mobile devices. Badges can be earned by chatting with the chatbot. When a user obtains a badge, he has the possiblity to share the information on Facebook. Synthetix has launched a a fifth Virtual Agent into the Water Utilities sector for Yorkshire Water. The company manage the collection, treatment and distribution of water in Yorkshire, supplying around 1.24 billion litres of drinking water each day. At the same time Yorkshire Water also collect, treat and dispose of about one billion litres of waste water safely back into the environment.

Synthetix has successfully deployed another smartAgent into the Travel and Tourism sector for Low Cost Holidays. Visitors to http://www.lowcostholidays.com click on the Help & Information tab and are connected with a smartAgent which is there to answer queries twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. The smartAgent has been implemented to improve the customer experience and reduce the routine inbound enquiries (both e-mail and calls) to their contact centre. It was launched at the time of the volcanic ash crisis and immediately became one of Synthetix busiest deployments.
