Well, folks, after many months of delays (most of which stemming from my motorcycle accident and subsequent recovery), Program O version 2.1 has finally been released for Beta testing. This is a major revision change, chock full of bug and security fixes, and represents a “next generation” upgrade to the script’s core code. There are no new features this time (in fact, we removed one feature to address stability and performance issues), unless you count a 30-70% improvement in performance to be a feature.

The script is available for download at https://github.com/Dave-Morton/Program-O/ so please feel free to download it and give it a go. If you should have any problems with operation of the script, it’s requested that you either use the bug reporting system found in the admin pages (may not work on “local” Windows systems that don’t have a built in mail server), or post about your problems in the Program O forums.

I have a suggestion for Program O. Do you think that adding support for Xaiml would enhance your chatbot engine? Information on Xaiml can be found here: https://launchpad.net/neobot.

Devyn, with everything that’s currently going on at home, I haven’t had the time to look into Xaiml, and I don’t see that changing at least till I get back from the Chatbots Conference, but rest asured that I’ll look into it as soon as time permits.
