Cool idea, Merlin. Thanks for the link, I’ll check it out.

Since CR’s an admitted “*nix gal”, she’s likely got Apache installed on her Unbutu box, along (I’m guessing) with some sort of CMS, like Wordpress, or something similar. Then it’s a simple matter of clicking on a bookmark, and typing away. I should probably do something like that for myself, since I already have a local server, and can install whatever the heck I want. smile Might save some time.

As I said, running Wordpress on a local server works great for this smile

Just to give some more tips; my local Wordpress is my ‘unified inbox’ for all ideas, thoughts and online stuff I run into. Besides this I’m using Mendeley Desktop for managing all the research papers, books and other references (linked to Firefox through Zotero), and I use Keepnote for bringing all this stuff together to write my own research papers and books (I have several projects going, not only in the realm of AI).

Links to all this:

All this stuff is cross platform so it runs on Windows as well as on Linux.

CR - if you are using a browser for things you might be interested in “Tidlywiki”. It allows you to create and edit a web page wiki on your local disk. http://www.tiddlywiki.com/

Something similar to Tidlywiki is PiggyDB, which is running on a database and is a little more robust then Tiddlywiki.

I do use a Tiddlywiki that is heavily adapted to the GTD-system, called mGSD:

Here’s something I’ve been looking out for to replace the pen and paper thing.. It’s the right price, and I hope it has the right feel (aka paper-feel) as well. I’d like to try it first, though .

That device seems almost too good to be true, Jan. smile

But hey, if it proves out, I’ll save my pennies for one.

Looks like vaporware so far. Lots of great looking renders but no real prototype in sight (the absence of any real humans in the pictures is a dead giveaway).

I also saw a statement that they ‘are going to make this thing real’... so there you go wink

Hi,
I spent some time looking into tiddlywiki and piggdb. It seemed to me that they might be good tools to construct a knowledge management system for humans or to support a chatbot.  I found the linking of various bits to be of interest.

It’s been 25 days by the way, and I’m still carrying this Composition Book and pen around with me to work, on local trips, sitting down at night.  It allows me to think without the distraction of a computer.  Although I may not be thinking of much in terms of value, it’s exciting to see how much ‘stuff’ comes out of my head. I’m picking up on contradictory thoughts. I sure do hope I don’t have multiple personalities.  =)

Regards,
Chuck
