- a system to reward individuals for their contributions to this field, and to our website in particular.
- a dynamic system: A ‘contribution point’ is not something you can earn, keep and redeem. It is a number that allows us to compare you with other individuals, more comparable to Google PageRank. We are constantly fine tuning our system which might result in other contribution point totals, either higher or lower.
- a method to rank companies and universities. We are interested in knowledgeable people contributing to the field, who have written books, scientific papers and interesting columns. We would like to know which organizations have currently hired them. Where is it happening right now? That is what the ranking should express in the end. We are constantly tweaking our algorithms to this purpose.
