Editing certain posts leads to the 404 page

In the post at http://www.chatbots.org/ai_zone/viewreply/5882, I noticed that Erwin had a minor typo in his post that ended up running two URL links together, so I decided to correct the problem. However, both the Preview and Submit buttons take me to the 404 page. When I edit Jan Bogaerts’ post, directly above it, the Preview and Submit buttons work correctly.

Though the symptopms are similar to Arthur’s post at http://www.chatbots.org/admin/viewthread/545/, the circumstances under which I got the 404 page are different, thus the new post.

I was just able to edit Erwin’s post without getting the 404. Then I logged in as you and got the same error. I think it’s a permissions thing. Logged in as you I can successfully edit and then preview lots of different posts, except those from Erwin. Maybe because he is a Super Admin you are not allowed to edit his posts.

I’ve asked about it on the ExpressionEngine forum.

I was pretty much thinking the same thing, Arthur. That was the only thing that made any sense to me. smile I knew that when I first became a moderator, I had edit buttons for everyone except Erwin, Then at some point I got the edit button, but would get the message, “You don’t have permission to edit this post” (or something to that effect). I didn’t think about that when I went to edit his post this morning, until I got the 404 page. then I remembered. Silly me. smile

Did I make a typo? Can’t imagine grin. Thanks for picking this up!

Well, the typo isn’t important, except that it pointed out a problem, so I guess we need to thank you for proving that you’re human. raspberry
