clarifying ~concept

I think the answer is yes having perused concept.top, but just to clarify, I can make one file (in the ontology?) for concepts if I decide to add some? As in, add new concepts to concept.top makes them available for the the entire bot as long as I do :build 0 to invoke the ontology.

Each release of Chatscript often adds to the ontology folder more data.  It is EASIER on you if you create your supplemental ontology file as part of your Irma rawdata folder and build it at level 1.  Or if you have a custom files0.txt then it can read your extra concept file from wherever.  Ideally you want to be able to swallow my latest ONTOLOGY folder without having to do anything special.

So, in response to this, and based on another question I posted, if I do :build 0 at initial execution, and then :build 1 and files1.txt is customized to include RAWDATA/ONTOLOGY and RAWDATA/INGA and all of the files I have created for Inga are in the INGA folder, then they all compile, get used and are transportable to new versions by dropping them into the new CS after I unzip it?

so vague handwaving by you.  If you have built WHATEVER and you download a new CS version and then copy across your TOPICS folder to replace the one from CS, you have your built bot ready to work with the new CS version. If you have a modified files0 and files1, and copy your rawdata/INGA into a new cs release and then run and do :build 0 and :build 1, you also get your new bot.

BUT…. YOU WOULDN"T WANT TO JUST COPY BACK YOUR TOPICS FOLDER.  You’d want to redo :build0 and :build Irma, to get changes I make in the ontology. I am, for example, constantly improving the postagger/parser, which often relies on the RAWDATA/ONTOLOGY/PARSEDATA folder.  It will not work as well if you run new CS with old PARSEDATA

Right. Figured that part out on my own. No vague handwaving involved. wink

Thanks for the info.
