Snasci Artificial General Intelligence

It has been 13 of those “days away from the first in a series of demos.”

Progress update?

IBM Watson A.I. XPRIZE

http://ai.xprize.org/about/overview

This is a $3 million Grand Prize then 1 mil and 500 k so certainly not small potatoes.

Yet you claim that, “As an AGI, Snasci is possibly overkill for this prize.”
So you couldn’t possibly use $3 million for continued R&D for your project. (Then again if you already have an actual AGI, I suppose that wouldn’t really matter at that point).
Hmm…

Would appreciate a progress report. Thanks!

Snasci - Dec 2, 2016:

Hopefully, if all goes well, the first basic demos should be done by sometime in early January.

I’m almost done coding the prototype now.

I’m quite literally days away from the first in a series of demos.

I am very disappointed to see nothing coming. I was very excited to see these revolutionary demos, but we are almost late February and we have no news. A technical problem for the uploading of these demos, I suppose? cheese

What?! You mean someone has developed AGI far in advance of any current technology, yet can offer no proof or a demo?! Surely not… smile

  [ # 34 ]

You’re probably right, Steve. Someone who has built an artificial intelligence would certainly not bother to make a demo himself and download it. He would entrust this work to the AI itself.

So if there is no demo, it means that the AI has deliberately decided to remain hidden. Why ? Perhaps it has other ambitions? Conquer the world ?

Or it has turned rogue and destroyed its creator, Skynet style - no offence Merlin wink

Snasci - Dec 2, 2016:

No doubt every scammer tries to have a go…

Hopefully, if all goes well, the first basic demos should be done by sometime in early January…

So, if I focus on just demonstrating comprehension, knowledge retrieval, some inferences, etc., it should prove the point that the rest of it works, as they are all built on top of this layer.

That should be easy enough to deliver at this point.

I guess AGI is harder than some people think. wink

I’m getting mental flashbacks of Arthur T. Murray here. Don’t know why. raspberry

  [ # 38 ]

I am more reminded of the tale of Hans Peter Willems’ MindConstruct project. The story goes that he had spent 5 years working out his AGI theory, acquired half a million in private funding, and rented a dedicated office with programmers and a state-of-the-art semantic parser. At that point he announced that they would have functional AGI within 6 months. That was January 2016.

Now if that project with all the backing and manpower it had still ended belly up, I think it’s safe to conclude…
that men in black are abducting anyone who is close to achieving AGI.

Shhhhsshhh…you know they’re watching, reading and listening to everything and everyone, everywhere.

@ Snasci -

On December 23, 2016 Snasci posted in response to Andrew, “I appreciate where you are coming from on this, however, I’m quite literally days away from the first in a series of demos.”
=====================
It has been approximately 72 days (who’s counting) since your posting.

If you do have a working Demo of your AGI, it would be most appreciated if you posted it as well as serving to validate your abilities as a programmer / developer.

While we await, thank you.

Art, I love you like a brother, but I have to point out that your latest post is hazardously close to trolling. Shame on you. raspberry smile

  [ # 42 ]

The original post that started this thread was so outrageous it could only be regarded as trolling.

  [ # 43 ]

Thank you Andrew. my sentiments exactly.

For those who might not know and according to a variety of online dictionaries:

A Troll is someone who is purposely intent on disrupting a Forum.

Please let this thread die already!  The OP is probably including the number of replies to this thread in his “sales” pitch by now.

I suggest anyone who is still curious need only check the website for updates.

We expect training to an acceptable level to take about 3 years and backers of this campaign will be offered training sessions with Snasci to teach him things like comedy, playing instruments, how to act, how to play with kids, etc.

I recently expanded my article on stereotypical people in A.I., based on far more volatile cases that I had the misfortune of giving the benefit of doubt, and I’ll be taking my own advice for once. All this dancing on graves isn’t exactly making us look good either.
