Reports of Artificial Intelligence at GoogleX

http://www.webpronews.com/is-google-x-all-about-highly-intelligent-robots-2011-12

“The central focus of Google X for the past few years has been a highly advanced artificial intelligence robot that leverages the underlying technology of many popular Google programs. As of October (the last time I was around the project), the artificial intelligence had passed the Turing Test 93% of the time via an hour long IM style conversation. IM was chosen to isolate the AI from the speech synthesizer and physical packaging of the robot.”

If this is a hoax it wouldn’t be the first time folks from Google have staged a prank involving artificial intelligence. Anyone remember CADIE?

I find it hard to believe that after an hour, a chatter couldn’t determine that he was talking to a program. I notice there’s no demo either. I would put this in the hoax file.

It seems to be a very well elaborated hoax. Only time will say.
By the way, I love Cadie!!!!  hahahahah

Since this is originating from a post on Reddit with no proof of author authenticity, it is more than likely just a troll trolling.

I’m not going to be too surprised if something like this actually does happen in the next 5-10 years.
