ChatScript Wiki

Here’s a link to a page with 6 different options for the logo. Let me know which you prefer (along with any further suggestions you might have), and I’ll go from there.

I also came up with this one, which is less simple, but has it’s charms:

The last one ^^ is awesome. I like the blue gradient with the oob callback code in the background.

love that gradient with subtle chatscript interface info…...  I’ll take a dozen.

Thanks Eric,

I’m looking forward to see how it goes. there is the docs pdf files but it’s not searchable. and as a developers we use to search for every problem instead of reading docs wink

I don’t have experience with wiki but nonetheless I’d like to be involved smile

I think you can start with this file: “ChatScript Basic User Manual.pdf” by separating the parts into wiki pages and sections.

Please let me know what you need and I’ll do my best even though English is not my first language.

Thanks

Thank you Samuel for your support. I have already begun converting the “ChatScript Basic User Manual.pdf” into a wiki page found here: http://chatscriptwiki-chatscript.rhcloud.com/index.php/Basic_User_Manual

You can look at its source code to get an idea of how wiki pages are styled and scripted. It will be a lot of work but im working on converting all of the documentation pdf’s into wiki pages, that would be a good way to start helping. Also, what is your first language? You can help localize the wiki for your language, eventually we will have localize it for many languages.

Thank you for your support.

Hey Eric,

You’ve done good job with the wiki

I have two suggestions:
1. I think it is good idea to put links to the pages you’ve created based on the the docs in the main wiki page.
2. Maybe there should be dedicated page for each category, for example: page for input patterns will include everything from here http://chatscriptwiki-chatscript.rhcloud.com/index.php/Basic_User_Manual#Simple_Patterns and in addition will include sections about outputmacros and any other thing related to input pattern.

I can try combine some info I have but I’m not sure where to put it, maybe you can create some page for sketches.

Thanks for your work on the matter

Samuel,
Thats a great idea to have dedicated pages for the categories, we can create links from the manuals to the dedicated pages. Feel free to put your info on new pages and sw can organize and manage it later.

Ill start on adding the page links

Glad you liked it, Bruce. It’s my favorite, too. smile

Years ago, when I was playing the popular online game Final Fantaxy XI, I developed a PHP script that created dynamic images for forum signatures that would change with each viewing. An example can be seen at http://geekcavecreations.com/images/sa/sigs/MrMortimer.jpg  (Hit the refresh button a few times to see it in action). I thought about doing something of this nature for the logo here, but that may be a bit much. cheese

I don’t see where I can create new page..
EDIT:
Oh, I found it, just search for non existing page and then create one..

dave-  cute and clever, but overkill. One image is quite sufficient.

  [ # 25 ]

It’s also a lot of extra work to put the script together, requiring literally dozens of “image fragments” to choose from to be put together to make the final image. I like the last logo a lot, so if nobody objects, let’s go with that. smile

I’ve created dedicated page for input patterns:
http://chatscriptwiki-chatscript.rhcloud.com/index.php/Input_Patterns

This page is based on this section of the docs:
http://chatscriptwiki-chatscript.rhcloud.com/index.php/Basic_User_Manual#Simple_Patterns
But it has some addition (pattern macro) and is basically a short version for quick reference.

This page is not suppose to replace the docs but to gather everything related to this subject in simple and short form.

Please add and edit anything you think is appropriate. and suggestions are welcome.

Next in this subject I want to add a section about match position (@_0+) as explained by Bruce in this post https://www.chatbots.org/ai_zone/viewthread/1853/#18878. but I can’t find it in the docs. also I think it depends on the memorization part which not yet has its own page in the wiki.

This is a great addition to the project.
I would have suggested moving the code to github and taking advantage of their free wiki and gh-page and issue tracker.

None-the-less, It is great to get the docs out of the PDF’s

Good job on the wiki. I’d never really dug into the docs of ChatScript that much and the wiki made them more accessible.

I decided to start working on a comparison list of features between RiveScript and ChatScript, using the information on the wiki and also the Chatbots 102 article. It’s a rough draft at this point, though: https://github.com/kirsle/kirsle.net/wiki/RiveScript-vs-ChatScript

I have one that compares RiveScript to AIML that I wrote a while back, here: http://www.rivescript.com/aiml but I had never gotten around to a ChatScript comparison for lack of knowledge of ChatScript’s features and syntax. wink

Noah, that is a fantastic resource. I hope that superscript finds a comfortable place in between these to projects, as it seems like there are lots of differences.

This wiki could be pretty useful. I haven’t tried the search functions but that might be a powerful tool. I currently take all of the individual help documents and combine them into one so I can search more easily. I always forget where a specific topic might be and hunting though several different documents is somewhat cumbersome.

Couple of little spelling errors I noticed. ChatScipt instead of ChatScript and fourms instead of forums.

Thanks for putting this together!

Doug
