Steve DiPaola directs the iVizLab that strives to make interactive systems bend more to the human experience by incorporating biological & cognitive models. Much of his work is on making computation models; for gaming, art, and research; of very human ideals such as expression, emotion, behavior and creativity. He came to SFU from Stanford University and before that NYIT Computer Graphics Lab and has held leadership positions at Electronic Arts, Saatchi Innovation and Silicon Valley start-ups. His art has been exhibited international including the AIR and Tibor de Nagy galleries in NYC, the Whitney Museum, the MIT Museum and the Smithsonian. He has collaborated with Nam June Paik and Kraftwerk and is known for making new media tools used equally by artists and scientists. See dipaola.org. |
