Anna is IKEA's virtual assistant. Anna answers questions about IKEA products, prices, sizes, delivery, spare-parts, opening hours etc. and opens related pages in a browser window. Furthermore, Anna knows when your local IKEA restaurant is open and what they serve for lunch! She also answers simple but personal questions like 'what's your name?' On top, she shows emotions, for example if she couldn't find information you are looking for.

Alice is a female chatbot, developed for the Dutch market, who can tell you about almost everything. She can inform users about the weather, traffic jams or train departure times. Alice cannot only inform the user about different kind of facts, but she can also act as an actual person, in a way that she connects with users by talking to them, just like a normal person would. There are in September 2009 more than 780,000 users who have added the Dutch Alice as a Windows Live Messenger buddy.
